Android KitKat 4.4 Update for LG G2

The Android 4.4.2 software update for LG G2 is expecting to release by the end of this December.

LG has released the news that the update will be available soon and the roll-out will begin in Korea. The international roll out schedule for the LG G2 has not been released yet.

The latest update was also rolled out for some other smartphones too like LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One. While Nexus 4, 5 and 7 were the first to receive Android 4.4 KitKat Update.

Click here to know about the features of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Android 4.4 KitKat Features

Android 4.4 KitKat is latest software update for Smartphones from Android. Some of its great features are as follow:
1. “OK Google”
Are you tired of touching that grimy screen to perform searches, send texts, get directions or play your favorite tunes? If so, or if you’re just lazy, there’s now voice control capabilities. Simply say “Ok Google” and the command you want when on the home screen, or when Google Now is open, and walla. You’re done.
2. Unlimited Home Screen Panels
If you ever wanted an unlimited amount of app shortcuts, folders, and widgets on your home screen panels, you’re in luck. KitKat contains such an ability. So go wild and crazy.
3. Immersive Display
Unlike previous versions of Android, where those intrusive status bar and navigation buttons remained on the screen, KitKat comes with a feature that will hide everything while reading or watching a movie. If you want to get back the status bar and navigation buttons simply swipe the edge.
4. Support for Integrated Pedometer
If you’ve been looking to invest into something like a FitBit, or are looking to lighten-up your gadget load, you’ll really enjoy this feature. Since the Nexus 5 is equipped with sensors that support pedometer functions, KitKat can enable this hardware through apps like Move.
5. Full-Screen Album And Movie Art Combined With Controls
Here’s another fun feature for those who stream music or movies. KitKat allows not only full-screen album and movie art to appear, there’s also controls that let users play, pause, skip ahead or lock the device’s screen.
6. Enhanced Caller ID by Google
How else can Google Search be used? How about by improving caller ID? If you’re tired of getting calls from unrecognizable numbers, this feature will resolve that issue by retrieving Caller ID information from local listings within Google Maps.
7. Quickoffice Integration
After Google purchased Quickoffice several years ago, it’s nice to see that is has been integrated into KitKat. Quickoffice is preinstalled and allows users to edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations that have been created with Microsoft Office or Google Docs.
8. Message Consolidation
The latest Android OS will consolidate all of your SMS , MMS, video calls and Google Hangouts chat messages into one convenient location. Another nifty feature in here is being able to share location and animated GIFs via Google Hangouts.
9. Contact Prioritization
KitKat will prioritize your contact list by sorting it by the people who you chat with the most often. You can also do a search for places and businesses that are near your location from the search box at the top. The KitKat Contacts app can also link up with your Google Apps contacts.
10. Emojis
Here’s another fun feature that Google has added into the Android KitKat’s Google Keyboard. Emoji, which is a Japanese term for those cartoonish ideograms and smileys seen in text messages and websites, can now be used in your messages instead of traditional text.
11. Easter Egg
This doesn’t really reflect the performance of the Android 4.4 KitKat, but it’s a neat feature if you want to have fun with the new OS. Included in the operating system is an Easter egg that converts your smartphone into a virtual KitKat chocolate bar. This is done by constantly tapping the ‘Android 4.4′ text within the About Phone section of the Settings menu.

Nokia Lumia 2520 Review - First Nokia's Tablet

Nokia Lumia 2520 is first foray into tablet market, and sees the firm competing against Microsoft, the company that recently bought it.

Microsoft obviously has produced Surface 2 which uses RT, but third-party manufacturers have never produced tablet which uses RT.

But here, at the end of 2013, Nokia has produced its first ever tablet which uses RT as its platform.

Lumia 2520's Design:
One of the best thing about Lumia 2520 is its design. Nokia is keeping its tradition of bringing some color back to consumer's products which it began with its brightly colored Lumia Smartphones. Like Lumia's other phones Lumia 2520 is also available in bright red and blue, as well as plain black or white for those who prefer more staid look to their gadgets.
Nokia knows how to design and make hardware and the Lumia 2520 is no different. The poly-carbonate shell looks and feels great in the hands, though it did attract fingerprints easily and is slightly slippery when held in one hand.
Indeed it is all but impossible to prop it up on its own without a special stand, as it slips and slides all over the place - and there is no Surface-style kickstand.
Nokia is launching a dedicated stand/keyboard dock, but that is not available in the UK yet.
Lumia 2520's Screen:

And here we come to the high point of the Lumia 2520 - the 10.1in screen may not have the highest pixel density (218ppi compared to say the Nexus 10's 300ppi) but it doesn't matter. The screen is one of the best on any tablet of this size.

Lumia 2520's Hardware and Performance:

Nokia has used the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor from Qualcomm which has been combined with 2GB of RAM. On the face of it this sounds great, and generally the Lumia 2520 is a decent performer, but sadly it seems to be let down not by hardware constraints but by Windows RT.

Aside from these little niggles, streaming HD video, uploading and downloading files, using Microsoft Office and browsing the web all work well.

The Lumia 2520 only comes in one version, with 32GB of storage, but a microSD card slot gives you the ability to expand that by a further 32GB - an option most tablet's these days don't give you.

Lumia 2520's Connectivity and Battery:
Along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC, support for a 4G SIM also comes as standard - something most tablet manufacturers charge a premium for.
Another nice feature on the Lumia 2520 is fast charging. It sees the large 8120mAh battery reach 80% charge in just one hour - something I would love to see in all tablets.
Battery life is also great. I managed to eek 10 hours of use from the Lumia 2520 which is about as good as you will get from a tablet these days.
Lumia 2520's Full Specifications:
Display: 10.1 inch full HD with 1920 x 1080p Resolution.
OS: Windows RT 8.1
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 800 series Quad-core with 2.2 GHz.
RAM: 2GB.
Storage: 32 GB built-in, Expandable memory card slot support upto 64 GB.
Camera: Main Camera 6.7 MP Auto-Focus witj ZEISS optics. No back flashlight. Secondary Camera 1.2 MP HD.

NADRA launches Thumb impression system for voting

ISLAMABAD: Blocking all posiibles loopholes in the voting process, NADRA has launched electronic voting machine or Bio-Metric voting machine to stop fake voting.

"The introduction will get rid of all the mess created by magnetic ink," says National Database Registration Authority.

"Every voter has to confirm his identity Bio-metric machine by pressing Thumb impression on the screen." Tariq Malik, Chairman of NADRA has said.

The launch, to be approved by Election Commission of Pakistan, will also be a surprising thing even for tech giants like Apple, which has launched thumb impression system in iPhone 5S after years of research.

The NADRA's launch is also said to be bigger innovation as we compare its scale with mobile devices. The voting mechanism, if approved, would have to confirm more than fourty to fifty (40-50) million people in only one day.

"If a voter fails to confirm his thumb impression, he would not be allowed to proceed to vote during polling," Malik further said while telling the detail of the new voting machine.

NADRA is the national ntiy for data registration of people of Pakistan having the credibility of being one of the best such systems in the world. It has recently won over $600 million contract of Sri Lanka beating 60 other bidders.
